Customer Service and Sales Assistant - Apprenticeship LGW

 

We are currently recruiting apprentices to join our team at London Gatwick Airport. 

 

This is an exciting and varied role to start your career in a customer focused role within the travel industry. The main focus of this role will include engaging with passengers travelling through London Gatwick Airport to provide excellent customer service, ticketing, and sales assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer engagement; assisting with customer enquiries online and via email, telephone, video/text chat in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Learning about the Aviation industry and airport partners.
  • Monitoring, responding and escalating passenger queries via social media platforms.
  • Responding and escalating airport passenger enquiries via email communication.
  • Assisting passengers with completion of pre-departure enquiries and services such as transport tickets and electronic visa submission.
  • Represent our airline clients by providing reservation support, ancillary collections and answering general enquiries.
  • Providing passenger support in times of travel disruption, including delayed, cancelled and missed flight scenarios.
  • Carry out duties to support the Lost Property service including collections, re-uniting items and maintaining passenger communications.
  • Learning multiple airline GDS reservations systems, including ticketing and revenue collections on behalf of our airline clients.
Apprenticeship Information

The Apprenticeship requires a minimum 12-18 month commitment and the apprentice focus is on completing both the Customer Service apprenticeship and the various levels of skills development as offered by the Skybreak training academy.* 

 

This is a fully supported position and the Apprentice Agent will have a proactive approach to their personal development learning journey and will strive to achieve the goals they are set. 

 

Success is rewarded by promotion to Grade 2 Trainee Sales & Ticketing Agent before qualifying to Grade 3 Sales & Ticketing Agent.

 

*17-19 year old applicants with suitable college course qualifications may be able to join us without requiring to complete an apprenticeship.

  • Previous Customer Service experience and/or a travel or Customer Service related qualification a bonus but not essential.

Customer Service and Sales Agent - LGW

We aren't currently recruiting for Customer Service and Sales Agents at London Gatwick at the moment, however, if you would like to be considered for any future opportunities please send a copy of your CV with a covering letter to recruitment@skybreak.com.

We deliver a range of passenger supporting services both face to face from our Customer Service Centres at Gatwick and Heathrow Airports, and digitally via video link as part of our Remote Passenger Services. 

 

Responsibilities
  • Using multiple GDS systems, completing airline ticketing services and disruption support, on behalf of multiple Airline carriers.
  • Create tailor made solutions for passengers that have missed their flight, including new flight bookings.
  • Booking all travel products including but not limited to; flights, hotels, ground transportation and visa's.
  • Provide high levels of customer service at all times and to contribute positively to the passenger experience.
  • Working towards company targets to enhance commissionable earnings.
  • Dealing with customers face to face at our customer service centres, via video calls and chat services.
  • Providing passenger support to our Aviation partners in times of disruption
Key Skills and Qualities

Skills Required

    • Previous experience in the travel and tourism sector
    • Knowledge of Amadeus or other major GDS reservation system and/or previous Airline ticketing experience
    • Geographical knowledge
    • Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
    • Languages (beneficial but not essential)
